The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission has raised concerns about the decision making and enforcement of Ireland’s covid restrictions.  A new report from the commission argues that NPHET lacks human rights expertise while the Department of Health creating the rules “makes it difficult to maintain effective democratic oversight”  Sinéad Gibney, Chief Commissioner of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission told us her about the concerns in the report.
