Congestion charges for Dublin and Cork should be considered by the government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, that’s according to a new report published yesterday by Environment Minister Eamon Ryan. The charges, already in place in a number of cities around the world, discourage the use of cars in cities. Traffic in London reduced by almost 20 per cent since its introduction in 2003 – so is it time we considered the charge here? To discuss this further we were joined on the show by Environmental Journalist and Commentator John Gibbons.
