One in eight schools in the Portmarnock-Malahide-Kinsealy areas will be required to drop a Catholic ethos in favour of a non denominational or multi denominational one. Some are opposing a proposed switch in patronage by warning that events such as Christmas, Shrove Tuesday and St Patrick’s Day will no longer be marked. To discuss this we are joined by Michael Nugent Chairperson of Atheist Ireland and Eamon Delaney Founder and Director of the Hibernia Forum.
