New Roadside Cameras Could Combat Phone Use While Driving

Mobile phone use  while driving may be picked up on by new roadside cameras, this new technology is currently being looked at by the Gardaí. The head of Garda National Roads Policing Bureau, has confirmed the technology is currently under consideration. 

Recent research from the Road Safety Authority found that one in 10 drivers admit texting as well as using apps behind the wheel.

Road Safety/Communications Officer at Mayo County Council Noel Gibbons, joined Shane on Newstalk Breakfast this morning to discuss the dangers of texting while driving.
