The online targeting of women politicians and women journalists is a matter of “real concern”, the deputy chief executive of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has told an Oireachtas committee.

New proposed legislation will aim to prevent material being posted online that has the potential to intimidate, threaten, humiliate or persecute a person. Maria Bailey, former Fine Gael TD told us her experience.
