More than 400 protesters gathered in Smithfield last Saturday over the planned development of hotels at the Cobblestone pub and at Merchant’s Arch in Temple Bar.  It comes as Trinity announced the closure of its Science Gallery and Chapters Bookstore on Parnell Street is shutting up shop after nearly 40 years in business.  

Is Dublin at risk of losing part of its cultural soul following the closure of such iconic places? For more on this Shane was joined on the show this morning by singer and songwriter Imelda May.
