Research from the University of Oxford has revealed shocking rates of Irish opiod use. Out of more than 30 countries studied worldwide, Ireland had the second highest sales of over-the-counter opioids. So, just how widespread is the problem? Laura Newell was addicted to painkillers for many years, an addiction that eventually led to her death. Her sister Carina joins Newstalk Breakfast to tell Laura's story.
