September beckons and families nationwide are beginning to feel the back to school buzz. 

Some households are filling with excitement, others with dread, but all are forking out up to €1,400 for that free education.  

Sinn Fein TD for Wicklow, John Brady has proposed giving all families a €140 “back to school bonus” to ease the financial strain.
