Yesterday here on Newstalk Breakfast, Ryanair chief Michael O’Leary accused Belarus of hijacking.  This was after the country sparked international outrage when it diverted a Ryanair flight heading to Lithuania to Minsk, where police arrested dissident journalist Roman Protasevic.  EU leaders met last night to discuss sanctions on the country for what Taoiseach Micheal Martin called ‘piracy in the skies’ . Minister of State for European affairs Thomas Byrne spoke to us this morning.
