New research has revealed thousands of clinical trials seeking new treatments for cancer and heart disease have been suspended or abandoned in the UK due to Covid-19. The Irish Cancer Society has previously warned that there will be an increase in deadly cases of the disease if full screening services are not resumed here at home.
