Calls for an increase to the current public sector pay deal

The country’s largest public-sector union has called on the government to open public sector pay talks by May at the latest. Fórsa says that the current agreement which was first agreed in December 2020 at the height of the pandemic, has not kept pace with inflation.  Kevin Callinan is Fórsa’s general secretary and the current president of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions spoke to Newstalk Breakfast this morning.
