Fianna Fail’s Deirdre Conroy has claimed that her treatment by the media during the Dublin Bay South by-election campaign will deter other women from entering politics.   She said it was “hurtful” to find journalists describing her as “a bad candidate” in post-election analysis and she was unprepared for media scrutiny of her online activity.  But are women being deterred from entering politics?  Joining us to discuss was Fine Gael TD for Dun Laoghaire, Jennifer Caroll McNeil.
