Fianna Fail’s Deirdre Conroy has claimed that her treatment by the media during the Dublin Bay South by-election campaign will deter other women from entering politics. She said it was “hurtful” to find journalists describing her as “a bad candidate” in post-election analysis and she was unprepared for media scrutiny of her online activity.
