The Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin have begun a process of ‘significant change’ which will see parishes instead of schools taking responsibility for the preparation and celebration of sacraments.  At the moment, primary responsibility for preparing Catholic children for sacraments like communion and confirmation falls upon teachers and schools. Archbishop Diarmuid Martin has said that training must begin immediately to prepare voluntary lay people in parishes to support families in preparation for sacraments. Clare chats to listeners.
