Garda body cameras, among several other surveillance methods, are the topic of new legislation to be considered by ministers this week. 

The cabinet is set to examine legislation that could eventually lead to gardai being issued with specialized camera for incidents in public.  

 It is hoped that it will lead to increased safety and transparency for the gardai and for the public. 

Brendan O’Connor, vice president of the GRA and by Katherine O'Keefe, director of training at Castlebridge, a data protection consultancy and Doireann Ansbro is Head of Legal and Policy for the ICCL, joined Andrea on the show.
