With Universal Basic Income a major topic in the upcoming US Presidential election, it’s becoming clear that most of our jobs are at risk due to the rapid progress of AI. 

That’s probably bad news for just about everyone... except perhaps the struggling artists. 

Because a machine can’t produce a masterpiece right? Are painters, poets and playwrights to become the most sought after members of the workforce? Or can we code for creativity?

Marcus du Sautoy is Charles Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science at Oxford University and author of The Creativity Code.
