On Monday the biggest ever fine was imposed by an Irish regulator on any company. Instagram which is owned by Meta and is a sister company of Facebook must pay €405m for failing to protect teenage users and for allowing them to access Business accounts on Insta despite being as young as 13.

Meta says the fines were disproportionate and the technical errors which permitted these minors to access business services have long since been corrected. But my next guest believes there is something deeper wrong at Insta and Meta.
