Even before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the world was facing a supply chain crisis. Ships that would have been traversing the oceans in 2020 and 2021 were not doing so and the explosion in demand after lockdown led to major problems getting parts from one factory around the world to another factory halfway around the globe.
