Disinformation or the deliberate abuse and spread of inaccurate and misleading information for political or financial gain has been around for many years but has been weaponised in the past few years thanks to social media.

Russia has long been using disinformation to confuse, dismiss and distort the truth. That is especially the case with its build-up to war with Ukraine. Now, and some will say finally, legislators and lawmakers are getting serious about clamping down on Russian lies. With more on this Joe was joined on the show this morning by Prof Stephan Lewandowsky from the University of Bristol.
