Chinese car brands like BYD and Geely, once relatively unknown in Europe, are now dominating the electric vehicle market. In response to suspected below-cost dumping of Chinese cars, the EU Commission has decided to impose tariffs on Chinese EVs. This move is likely to provoke retaliation from China, setting the stage for a trade war.
