Irish footballer James McClean and his wife Erin took to social media yesterday to share some of the horrific abuse and death threats that they face on a daily basis.

McClean, who is a proud Irish republican, has received backlash in the past for refusing to wear the Remembrance Poppy, which commemorates the sacrifices of British Armed Forces and shows support to those still serving today.

The most recent messages received by the Derry native and his family threaten to burn down their house, while he has also been victim of sectarian comments.
