As part of the Off the Ball Roadshow in Vicar St tonight, Joe was joined on stage by Liverpool and England legend John Barnes, thanks to Carlsberg's Join The Greats campaign.

Despite his footballing heroics, Barnes is known globally for his part in the famous song World in Motion. He speaks about how the players how took part in the song missed out on a financial fortune by deciding to take a small lump sum for their participation in the song compared to getting a percentage of royalties.

He speaks very eloquently about the racism he received throughout his career from fans in England. Famously after scoring against Brazil in the Maracana in 1984, Barnes was racially abused on the plane back to England by members of the National Front. He also talks about receiving hate mail from fans throughout England when playing for Watford.

Barnes joined Liverpool in 1987 and was signed by Graeme Souness and made over 400 appearances for the side winning two league titles and two FA Cups.
