Yesterday the Irish Film Board revealed that Roy Keane would be the star of a movie...sort of.

The Ireland and Manchester United legend will be the subject of a new short film called Rockmount which delves into his early football career.

The film is directed by Dave Tynan and tonight he joined us on the show to tell us about the tantalizing project.

"It's a week in the life of a little boy called Roy in 80s Cork as he tries to get onto the football team. He's a little too short but he's not taking no for an answer. That boy is Roy Keane," said Tynan of the premise for the film.

Tynan first came up with the idea two years ago and since then it has been "cooking for a bit" until it got picked up by Bord Scannan.

But now as the serious business gets underway, Tynan is in search of a cast member with the aura to play a certain Roy Keane.

"We've got to find the golden child. The whole film rests on the kid." As Tynan said "No pressure, then!"

Tynan also gave us an idea about what type of film he is aiming for.

"It is a sports movie. There's football in it but it's character first. It's a character based comedy, I suppose, is how we've been selling it. The average narrative of a sports movie is that the character uses traits in their personal life in how they perform on the pitch. I guess we're following that model," said Tynan.

And of course, Tynan also touched upon one of his most famous endeavours, the short film Just Sayin which proved to be a massive hit on YouTube.
