The High Court will rule today whether to stop a receiver from taking possession of the family home of Dublin solicitor Brian O'Donnell.

Land League protesters are said to have barricaded the luxury property in Killiney.

Mr O'Donnell's son, Blake, told the High Court he did not know how protesters came to be at the family home on the Vico Road in Killiney.

Yesterday, the Tánaiste said the coalition may cut bankruptcy to just one year as a means of forcing banks to do a deal with those struggling with debt.

Labour TD Willie Penrose is working on legislation that would cut the period of bankruptcy from the current three years to just 12 months.

This morning, Ivan and Chris discussed the problems with the bankruptcy law.

"We now need to conclude that the 2012 Personal Insolvency legislation doesn't work. I really welcome Willie Penrose proposal to change it from three years to twelve months.

"Alan Shatter introduced this legislation and he promised last February before he left Justice that he would review it.

"Every group that is at the front line of this... all say the law needs to be changed.

"When is Enda Kenny and Joan Burton going to wake up to it and get a game-changer that will not give people debt write-offs but give people settlement solutions?"
