A new poll in this morning’s Irish Independent indicates that Renua leader Lucinda Creighton is in danger of losing her seat next week in the general election in her Dublin Bay South constituency.

The Millward Brown poll, carried for the Irish Independent, involved face-to-face interviews with 498 voters at 46 sampling points between the 12th and the 16th of February.

It claims that Lucinda has quite a tough fight on her hands against others running in her constituency including Fine Gael's Eoghan Murphy and Kate O'Connell and Sinn Féin's Chris Andrews.

The poll of the four seat constituency shows Fine Gael's Eoghan Murphy on 20 per-cent, followed by Sinn Fein's Chris Andrews on 17% with Renua leader Lucinda Creighton and Labour's Kevin Humphreys both on 13%.

Fianna Fail's Jim O'Callaghan is on 11%, with Kate O'Connell of Fine Gael on 10% followed by Eamon Ryan of the Greens on 7%.

It also suggests that the Green Party's Eamon Ryan may not be in the running for Leinster House in the four-seater constituency.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Ms Creighton spoke to Richard Chambers from Pat Kenny and claimed that the Fine Gael party are pumping in resources to try and eliminate her from the running.

In 2011, Creighton topped the poll for the constituency bringing in Eoghan Murphy but this time around, things are a lot different and it seems that Ms O'Connell is more favourable to transfers.
