The three men suspected to be involved in the alleged rape of a Dublin mother in Clondalkin last week are reportedly related.
The woman was pushing her bicycle along a footpath after 3.00am when she was grabbed by the three men last Thursday morning.
Two men arrested in connection with the assault were released without charge on Friday evening.
Gardaí have appealed to witnesses, or anyone with information, to contact Ronanastown garda station on 01-666-7700.
The woman reported being raped by the side of the road, after a gang of men pulled her off her bike into nearby bushes.
Conor Feehan is a journalist with Independent News and Media.
"They are closely related and from the same family," he told Newstalk Breakfast.
"We're talking about a family here who's names have been shared on social media, we believe - and as a result of that, death threats from local criminals have been issued."
He says one of the men wanted by gardaí is thought to be on-the-run.
