Some 10,000 people are still without power after Storm Barney swept across the country.
5,000 customers had their electricity restored this morning.
But further bad weather during the morning resulted in additional faults in Tipperary and the North West of the country, which was affected by lightning.
ESB says crews are continuing to work to repair and rebuild the electricity infrastructure.
It says that timber contractors have also been deployed to assist with the clearing of fallen trees and timber.
ESB says it is confident that the majority of customers will have power restored by this evening.
Areas most affected by power outages are:
- Delvin: 300
- Bray/Greystones: 400
- Wicklow: 600
- Clare: 1100
- Letterkenny: 200
- Mallow: 400
- Kilcullen: 260
- Clonmel: 350
