Former US House speaker Newt Gingrich clashed with Fox News presenter Megyn Kelly on live TV last night over media coverage of allegations against Donald Trump.
Mr Gingrich reacted angrily after Mrs Kelly read out a list of controversies involving the Republican candidate - such as the recording of his crude comments about women and the series of allegations that has followed the tape's release - and suggested that "if Trump is a sexual predator then it's a big story".
Before letting the presenter finish the sentence, Mr Gingrich said: "I'm sick and tired of people like you using language that is inflammatory [...] When you used the words you took a position. I think it's very unfair of you to do that, Megyn - I think that's exactly the bias people are upset by."
Arguing that there was much less media coverage of a leaked excerpt from a Hillary Clinton speech in Brazil, Mr Gingrich also accused the interviewer of being "fascinated by sex".
In response, Mrs Kelly said: “I’m not fascinated by sex - but I am fascinated by the protection of women and understanding what we’re getting in the Oval Office.
“It’s not about me - it’s about the women and men of America, and the poll numbers show us that the women of America in particular are very concerned about these allegations," she added.
She also argued that Bill Clinton is "not on the ticket" when she was 'dared' by Mr Gingrich to comment on allegations against the former president.
Mrs Kelly has previously been criticised by Donald Trump himself, as well as her Fox News colleague Sean Hannity.
