A woman has died following a car crash in Wexford.

The fatal collision happened at 10.30 yesterday morning at Coollishall Upper in Gorey.

A 48-year-old woman was seriously injured when the car she was driving collided head on with a 4x4 vehicle on the R772 between Gorey and Clough.

She was taken by air Ambulance to Tallaght Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The driver of the second car, a man in his 40s, sustained minor injuries.
