A man's desperate efforts to kill a spider have prompted a police response in Australia.
Police in Perth were alerted after hearing a man repeatedly screaming "why don't you die".
A toddler in the home was also heard screaming during the incident.
After receiving a concerned call, Western Australia police officers attended the scene.
However, both the man and his wife assured the responding officers that the man had only been attempting to kill a spider.
The man in question is said to have had a serious fear of the arachnids.
Police confirmed that nobody appeared to be injured - except for the spider.
Wanneroo Police initially posted details of the incident with a screenshot on their Twitter page.

However, it has since been deleted - with a spokesperson telling The Guardian it was a shot of an internal police system and "there were just some typos in it, things like that".
