A dining experience with a difference has opened in Dublin, so take it easy Karen.

Karen's Diner on O'Connell Street guarantees snarky and terrible customer service.

Starting with a neon middle finger, the restaurant sets you up for a variety of let downs and narky staff.

It describes itself as "an interactive diner and an absurdly fun experience".

"At Karens you will be greeted and waited upon by rude waiters and forced to play a variety of games," the restaurant says.

"A place where you can complain until the cows come home because we literally don't care."

Henry McKean gave it a try for Moncrieff and met some Karens for himself.

"It was an example of bad service that we've all had," he said.

"This is Karen's Diner, an Australian concept and a themed restaurant.

"The tagline is 'Great burgers and very rude service'.

"They were deliberately mean and rude and huffy; they had that kind of entitlement in their voice, that quietly quitting anger that we all experience every day."

Henry said this restaurant is a good place to see the other side of it all.

"We're all pussyfooting around, trying our best to be friendly and nice and have a nice day," he said.

"I spend a lot of time travelling the country and I visit cafés and restaurants.

"Most of the people are friendly, but you do come across bad service an awful lot.

"Especially sometimes supermarkets, the checkout boys and girls, you don't even exist.

"They're having a conversation and they just serve you.

"It's really creating a conversation," he added.

'Karen' is a slang term for an obnoxious, angry and entitled middle-aged white woman.

Karen's Diner opens Wednesday to Friday from 4pm and Saturday and Sunday from 1.30pm.
