A 79-year-old man has died after being attacked by a bull at a farm in Co. Westmeath.
The incident happened in Newtown in Mullingar at 9:40pm last night.
The farmer was trying to rescue the bull from a ditch when it charged and pinned the farmer down.

Emergency services attended the scene and the man was pronounced dead at 11pm. A post mortem will be carried out later and the scene will be examined.
