Today

Any early frost in inland areas will soon clear.

Today will be mostly cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain over much of the country.

The rain will be heaviest over Munster and south Leinster with a risk of spot flooding.

Highest temperatures 9 to 11 degrees with moderate to fresh southerly winds, becoming strong and gusty in coastal areas of Leinster.

Tonight

Further outbreaks of rain overnight, again heaviest over east Munster and south Leinster with the continuing risk of spot flooding.

Staying windy too in moderate to fresh southeast winds.

Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees.

Status Yellow - Rainfall warning for Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford

From early hours of Wednesday to noon on Thursday, spells of heavy rain at times will give amounts of 30 to 50 mm with a risk of spot flooding.

Warning valid until 12pm Thursday
