Cats are renowned for being quite intelligent creatures, however even one Russian cat couldn’t outsmart the Narcotics officers in Rostov.
They became suspicious of the law-breaking feline after spotting him regularly roaming around the prisoners’ quarters.
The cat smuggler was busted after being caught carrying heroin into the criminal facility in the town of Shakhty.
According to officials, the stray cat had been sneaked out of the compound by a released prisoner who hid the animal in a bag.
The black cat was then handed over to a group of drug dealers who began stashing heroin in its collar before letting it deliver to prison inmates.
‘Police and drug control officers detained the accomplices when they were putting drugs into the collar,’ a drug control spokesman said.
While the cats drug smuggling days now over and it doesn’t look likely that the feline will face any charges, there will be no doubt that it’s accomplices will.
