Released in January 2015, Paula Hawkins' mystery-thriller The Girl On The Train became an instant hit and an eventual massive best-seller, prompting a bit of a bidding war in Hollywood for the adaptation.
Universal Pictures eventually won out, giving the director's chair to Tate Taylor (The Help), who has amassed an all-star cast including Emily Blunt, Luke Evans, Justin Theroux, Rebecca Ferguson, Lisa Kudrow, Allison Janney and Edgar Ramirez.
This first trailer, soundtracked by a dark and twisted version of Kanye West's "Heartless", gives a good indication of the plot - Blunt's character witnesses a murder, and finds herself becoming a suspect - without giving away too many of the actual plot points.
Clearly hoping to follow in the successful footsteps of the likes of Gone Girl, we'll get to see just what happened to The Girl On The Train when it pulls into Irish cinemas on October 7th.
