The singer posted a 15-second video for Writing's On The Wall on his Twitter account.

"4 days!! Thanks to everyone pre-ordering, can't wait for you to hear 'Writing's On The Wall'," he wrote.

The clip does not include any vocals but has the distinctive James Bond sound with the familiar dramatic strings which have made other 007 tunes famous.

Smith only confirmed earlier this month that he had recorded the track and said he had been forced to lie as the rumours increased.
The tune has been co-written with Grammy-winner Jimmy Napes.

Spectre producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said it would "surely be considered one of the greatest Bond songs of all time".

Adele won an Oscar for the song she wrote and recorded for Daniel Craig's previous spy thriller Skyfall.

If Smith's tweet is correct, it looks like the single will be on sale from 25 September.

Spectre is released here on 26 October.
