The first trailer has arrived for Greek director Yorgos Lantimos’ new Irish-made film The Lobster.
The Picturehouse Entertainment film was an acclaimed hit at Cannes this year, winning the Jury Prize. Starring Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz, the story revolves around a near-future world where single people are obliged to find a mate with whom to spend their life. If they cannot, they are transferred to The Hotel, where they have 45 days to match with someone, or else be turned into an animal of their own choosing and be released into The Woods.
Co-starring Léa Seydoux, John C Reilly, Ben Whishaw, and Olivia Colman, and directed by the creator of the bizarre Dogtooth, The Lobster hits screens on October 16th, and promises to be the most unusual new film of the year. Check out the trailer below:
