The Road Safety Authority is advising motorists to take care while driving this morning, after Met Éireann extended an Orange Weather Warning across the east, northeast and midlands.
The weather forecaster is predicting fog in Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Westmeath, Meath, Leitrim and Roscommon.
The warning will remain in place until 9am.
Motorists are advised to switch on dipped headlights and fog lamps, reduce speed, and keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front.
