Lawyers for the independent TD Mick Wallace say he'll fully defend any legal action taken by the DUP leader Peter Robinson.
They have confirmed that they have received correspondence from the former First Minister over a tweet posted to Deputy Wallace's Twitter account.
In a statement this evening the TD's solicitors say the tweet was not "in any way defamatory" and the case will be defended in full.

A Stormont committee has been investigating alleged irregularities in the sale of NAMA's Northern Ireland loans, after Deputy Wallace made claims about the sale under Dáil privilege.
