Vogue Williams has said she never dreamed her podcast with comedian Joanne McNally would take off like it has.

The podcaster and TV presenter joined Lunchtime Live this afternoon to discuss her new role alongside Peppa Pig as a World Oceans Day ambassador.

Williams, who carried out the entire interview while feeding new-born baby Otto, said she loves juggling the madness of family life and her career as a businesswoman and presenter.

She also said she would love return home to Ireland with husband Spencer Mathews when her kids reach primary school age – but the family still has another year to decide what to do.

Asked whether she ever expected ‘My Therapist Ghosted Me’, her podcast with Joanne McNally to be so successful, she said: “Absolutely not. No way.”

“I said to Joanne, I was like, will we give it a go because we have always had such a laugh together – but that might not always translate when you try and work together.

“We did our first one and we were like, well that was great craic, but we just didn’t expect it to go the way it did.

“It is really, really nice to have so many people listening to it. To have people stop me when they’re on their run and they’re listening to it on their headphones. That will never get old, I love it.”

"So sound"

The Howth native said the podcast listeners are an “amazing group of people”.

“Do you know what, I went to see Joanne over in the palladium in London and everyone is just so sound,” she said.

“Everyone that came up to me was just really, really nice and really, really sound so it is a really amazing group of people that listen to it.

“They’re just in for a good laugh and no-one gets offended by anything. It’s just been really cool.”

"Very exciting announcement"

She said the duo are still working on putting together a podcast tour – and teased a “very exciting announcement on this Friday’s episode.

“We’re working on the tour and we’ll be doing an announcement soon,” she said.

“There’s a very exciting announcement coming on Friday. Something I can’t believe we’re getting to do – but we’re getting to do it and we are going to chat about it in the podcast on Friday.”

World Oceans Day

Williams said she is delighted to become a World Oceans Day ambassador alongside Peppa Pig – who is a big deal in her house.

“Peppa obviously my kids absolutely love so I think it is really great thing that she is getting involved because it makes the kids want to get involved more,” she said.

“We need to start them young. I have been teaching Theodore and Gigi at home all about recycling and after our litter clean-up, I brought them two little sticks so they can pick up litter in the park and just try and do their bit.”

She said it is “super important” to try and teach your kids about the environment as early as possible.

“I find myself over the past four or five years just trying to be more sustainable in as many ways as I can and then, when I saw this, it is just a good campaign to get involved with.

“It is highlighting issues that we already have and I think, if everybody just tries to do their part for the environment, I think we can make a big difference.”
