A man has come forward to police in the UK to hand himself in after footage of him pushing a cyclist into traffic was released online and quickly went viral.
Footage released by police showed a woman in London chased and pushed from her bike, by a pedestrian, into traffic on a busy street. The footage was released on Twitter earlier today and was soon being published by many media outlets and being shared widely on social media.
Footage recorded on the helmet camera of the cyclist shows the woman passing the man, saying: “Please don’t try and knock me off” and then cycling on.
Seconds later the man, wearing dark clothing, can be heard shouting and then appears alongside the woman, where he shouts: “Come on then ... you wanna put your finger up at me, you mug?”

Detectives in London have released the footage as part of an appeal for information on the man in the video.
Police released a statement saying the cyclist “managed to get out of the road and move herself and her bike to safety and out of the way of moving traffic.”
She was “very upset ... but did not require medical attention” police say.
“She was able to contact police and download the footage of the incident recorded on her helmet camera.”
The assault took place on Friday May 1, on Sidney Street at approximately 6pm.
