Regardless of political ideology, the loss of any human life in war is a burden to bear. This short animation reveals the story of Marine Lance Corporal Travis Williams, who was the only member of his squad to survive the war. He lost all 11 of his friends when their vehicle exploded on their way to a rescue mission. 

As he tells it, the only reason he survived is because of a last-minute tap on the shoulder. But he doesn't feel very lucky:
