When Stacey Yepes of Toronto believed she was suffering from a stroke, she immediately went to a local emergency room. Though she was told that the symptoms wee a result of stress, they recurred soon after  but this time she got it on camera.

This video selfie shows the 49 year-old suffering from numbness and slurred speech. After showing it to doctors, she was soon diagnosed as having had a mini-stroke resulting from a plaque build-up in her arteries. 

CBC News reports that she has since been put on a new diet and exercise regime, as well as cholesterol-loweing medicine, and plans to return to work soon.

Dr. Cheryl Jaigobin, the stroke neurologist at the hospital's Krembil Neuroscience Centre said:

"In all my years treating stroke patients, we’ve never seen anyone tape themselves before.

"Her symptoms were compelling, and the fact she stopped and found a way to portray them in such a visual fashion, we were all touched by it."
