Blur front man and lead singer Damon Albarn has spoken about how he has worked with British singer Adele on her forthcoming album, rumoured to be released in November.

News of the long-awaited follow-up to Adele’s commercial and critical success 21 from 2011 has only recently broken, with the singer expected to be collaborating with Danger Mouse, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, Tobias Jesso Jr, and also Albarn, who recently played Electric Picnic and also fronts the band Gorillaz.

In an interview with The Sun, Albarn said that he had worked on new material with Adele for her album, expected to be called 25, but that he doesn’t suspect that what he produced will make the final album. The Blur singer also said that the tracks he had heard from the album are “very middle of the road.”

"Adele asked me to work with her and I took the time out for her,” Albarn said. “And I’m not a producer, so… I don’t know what is happening really. Will she use any of the stuff? I don’t think so. Let’s wait and see.

“The thing is, she’s very insecure. And she doesn’t need to be, she’s still so young," he added.

Adele’s new album comes off  the back of the huge success of 21, which sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
