The Minister for Health has denied there is a communications problem between the Taoiseach and his Ministers.

He was responding to questions about Enda Kenny's admission of responsibility, regarding the controversy surrounding John McNulty's candidacy for the Seanad bye-election, and his appointment to the Board of IMMA.

The Arts Minister Heather Humphreys appointed Mr McNulty to the board, but he quit the post 13 days later, after being chosen by Fine Gael to contest the Seanad bye-election.

Speaking with Shannonside FM, Leo Varadkar says communication is generally good at cabinet level - but he admitted that sometimes things can "slip through the cracks".

“What I can say is that ministers meet every week. We meet as Fine Gael ministers every Tuesday over breakfast and then we meet in cabinet and we all have each other’s mobile numbers, so by and large communication is very good but we’re also very busy at the same and maybe sometimes thins can slip through the cracks,” Minster Varadkar said.
