The US vice presidential candidates Joe Biden and Paul Ryan have clashed in their only debate before the election next month.

There were feisty exchanges between the 2 men during the 90 minute debate in Kentucky.

Currently Mitt Romney and Barack Obama are tied in the polls.

The debate seemed to grabbed voters’ attention but appeared to change few minds in the capital of Ohio.

It is a state that might hold the key to victory in the November 6th election.

Biden on the attack

Democrats appreciated the sharp tongue of Vice President Joe Biden and welcomed his aggressive attacks.

Republicans criticised him as unprofessional and annoying for grinning sarcastically as his Republican rival Paul Ryan spoke.

Meanwhile Ryan got high marks for avoiding wonky discourse and hitting hard against his famously forceful opponent.

The two men frequently interrupted each other on topics such as healthcare, the economy and Iran.
