Two women have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a teenager in Dublin.

Teenager Reece Cullen was stabbed in the heart at Kilclare Crescent in Tallaght on 5th January, 2017.

The 16-year-old was on the phone to his girlfriend when he was attacked.

A 29-year-old woman was previously arrested in connection with the case but was later released without charged.

A 14-year-old boy was also questioned by detectives in the wake of the killing, after he attended Tallaght Garda Station with his mum.

He was later released without charge.

The females, both in their 30s, were arrested just after 7am this morning and are being detained at Tallaght Garda Station.

They can be questioned for up to 72 hours.
