We could be in for another round of strike action at Dublin Bus.
Both SIPTU and NBRU drivers have voted overwhelmingly to reject the latest proposals aimed at saving the company 11.7 million Euro.
They were thrashed out following a three day strike by workers there over the bank holiday weekend.
SIPTU organiser Willie Noone says while his members donÂ’t want another strike, itÂ’s clear that theyÂ’ve had enough.
In response, Dublin Bus says it is extremely disappointed with the outcome of the ballot of the driver grade in both SIPTU and the NBRU. The driver grade in both Trade Unions has rejected the Labour Court Recommendation and subsequent clarification issued on August 9th 2013.
This is despite the lengthy process we have been involved in with Trade Unions and employees over the past 14 months and the efforts of the Labour Court to broker an agreement last week.
Dublin Bus will now await the outcome of the ballots of the other 6 grades and will not be making any further comment until this process is completed.
