Two men are to appear before a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court tonight.

The men, aged 27 and 35 years, were arrested on Sunday night as part of an operation targeting dissident republican activity in the Sligo/Leitrim area.

The arrests were made shortly after 11pm in the Leitrim area by local members of An Garda Síochána.

The two were detained at Sligo Garda station under Section 30 and remain in Garda custody.
