Two men have been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Limerick.

31 year old Shane Murphy, from Lee Estate, Limerick City, was stabbed to death at his girlfriend's house last Thursday night.

32 year old Ger Hogan and 20 year old Dylan Hayes - appeared before Limerick District Court this evening - charged with assault causing serious harm to Shane Murphy at, The Grove, Pallasgreen.

Both men were granted free legal aid and two solicitors were appointed to represent them.

Judge Mary Larkin remanded them both in custody to appear in court again next Tuesday for the purposes of a bail application.
