Two men have been arrested in Dublin as part of an operation involving gardaí from Finglas, Clondalkin, Carlow, and the Drugs Organised Crime Bureau.
The pair were detained after officers intercepted two cars on the Naas Road at around 4.30am.
Gardaí said it emerged that one of the vehicles, a 4x4, had been stolen in Tullow on August 3rd.
The two drivers, both in their 30s, are being detained at Carlow garda station under section four of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
A third car that was recovered during follow-up searches at an apartment complex in Tallaght is believed to have been robbed from the same town on August 3rd.
The two suspects were arrested as part of Operation Thor, an intelligence-led operation targeting organised crime gangs and repeat offenders.
